Quirky Quilter’s Salad Dressing is a brand for those of us who enjoy the more unconventional things in life. In this case; flavor combinations. Owned and operated by a life-long quilter, it was extremely important to incorporate those themes into the brand. It was quite a challenge.
What’s something every quilter uses? Scissors. What has to be done to veggies for a salad? They need to be cut. Maybe I have something there. I combined the simplified shapes of scissors to look as if they chopped up a head of lettuce and voilà! I paired this new logomark with a funky font to finish out the logo design.
With that breakthrough, I was finally able to move on with the rest of the brand. An offbeat color combination like pink and green only felt right with the concept. In addition to the logomark, I also created a pattern using the same implied style to be implemented across the brand. I ended up using this pattern on the dressing labels themselves.
